This year The Minerva Juniors are taking on Disney’s The Little Mermaid Musical. It will be the full length production, and our talented team of young people look forward to seeing you all in February at the East Kilbride Village Theatre!
Join us as we follow the beautiful mermaid Ariel, who lives in an enchanted undersea country with her sisters and father, the King. She has the most beautiful singing voice, and is a passionate, headstrong young woman. She is unhappy as she wants what she can’t have, to live on land.
One day she falls in love with a handsome human price, and she becomes more determined than ever to lose her tail and swap it for legs. The only way to do this is to defy her father and make a deal with Ursula, the Sea Witch. Ariel gives Ursula her voice as payment for legs and the ability to walk on dry land. The catch is that she only has three days to win the heart of the prince without using her wonderful voice. If she fails to win his heart she will lose her soul to the greedy witch. Luckily Ariel has the help of Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull, and the pompous court composer Sebastian the crab!
Based on the classic Hans Christian Anderson fairy tail, and the Disney film The Little Mermaid, this musical is fin and fantastical, including big hits like “Under the Sea”, “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World”.
